Cin-Cin Wine Bar

I was recently contracted by Rachel Long to build two websites for Cin-Cin wine bar. The first site (click here to see it in action) showcases the variety of their menu with a custom adaptation of the flexslider to create a smooth rotating gallery on the homepage. It features custom widgets on the homepage that are easy to update with new content as well as a reservations widget that makes reserving a table fast and easy.

The second site (click here to see it in action) is a blog for Cin-Cin to keep people up to date on the latest promotions and events.

Strawfoot Handmade

I recently finished building a new website for Strawfoot Handmade. I built it as a WordPress site so that Garrett can login and manage his own site easily and use it to leverage social media. It has a custom slider on the homepage as well as an embedded lookbook that shows what Strawfoot is all about.

Strawfoot Handmade is a small operation from Northern California that crafts durable bags from American made waxed cotton canvas with hand tools and a vintage single-needle sewing machine. All products are designed and sewn by Garrett Kautz in a small Santa Cruz workshop and based on simple, but functional designs that are built to last a lifetime.

ATN marketing site

The marketing team from All Together Now contracted me to build a temporary site while the web-app is still being developed. This is a fairly simple site however it has a few dynamic features including the ability to share via social media and an advanced signup form.

I have been working for a start-up called All Together Now as a freelance developer and webmaster. (see beta site here)

This is easily my favorite project that I have been a part of! The all together now team is the cream of the crop and working with them inspires me to learn new tools and tech. I am the webmaster for the social site so I manage all its revisions and design changes as the site evolves with the marketing team’s ideas. I am also doing a lot of front end work for the actual application. This includes building dynamic JQuery module tabs, developing the class based HTML skeleton, and doing the HTML carve up. I have been up to my nose in code for the last two weeks an this is only the beginning!

Cool Tools and Toys for Web Developers

I was looking at some new CSS3 tools and I came across this site check it out they have tools for building 3d animations that are similar to what you would normally see in flash but they are using the new features of CSS3. They also have a tool called Xray that is in my opinion better than firebug because it sits on top of the browser instead of shrinking your browser are to see firebug. Check it out!

I built a custom online store that was easy for both the users and the client. It features weight based shipping, product image galleries, an easy to use promo-code builder, and inventory management. For this project I built the clients website on the WordPress CMS and built the structure of the site around the idea of simplicity for the user and the owner of the site. Simplicity doesn’t mean easy! It takes more work to build a site that is functional as well as easy to use but in this case it was worth the late nights.

A friend of mine showed me this mag yesterday and I have not stopped reading since! It is very entertaining and educational in a nerdy sort of way. If you are a web developer or designer css design essentials magazine is a great way to stay up to date in the industry.
